ORIGIN Launch Event

The ORIGIN Launch event took place in January 2024. The event sought to communicate the findings from the pilot O-ACE project as well share the aims and ambitions for the ORIGIN project alongside opportunities for people to get involved in the research programme.

Since these projects are all about the impact of cultural experiences and young people, the event was created with and for young people (notably some of the co-producers from the O-ACE project and the ORIGIN Youth Advisory Group) and was held on a winter's evening in the atmospheric surroundings of the Pitt Rivers Museum at the University of Oxford. We were delighted to have more than 50 attendees representing arts and cultural organisations, the health sector (including Oxford Health NHS Trust), youth charities, refugee organisations, the county council, a local SEND school, social prescribing and the academic community. We were also excited to welcome young people to the event and to catch some of their ideas and feedback through interactive activities. Below you can check out some of the content from the evening:

  • Watch the video animation of the project's background and aims

  • Explore the illustration by Jack Brougham capturing conversations and ideas relating to the power of storytelling.
  • Watch quick instagram interviews with project leads Dr Rebecca Sheriff, Professor Kamaldeep Bhui, and Louise Chandler.
