A web app version of the Out in Oxford trail is available with audio recordings of the interpretations and audio descriptions of the featured items for blind and partially sighted users. BBC Radio Oxford interviews with the project’s volunteers, broadcast between 6-10 February 2017 to celebrate the launch of the trail, are also included.
The web app can be accessed at http://oxfordstories.ox.ac.uk/out-in-oxford and should work on all devices.
The web app was developed as part of the 'Diversifying the University Voice' project, funded by the University's IT Innovation Fund. For this project the Pitt Rivers Museum, TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre for the Humanities) and IT Services were awarded £60,000 to develop a mobile platform for diverse voices, stories, research and collections to be made available to a wider public. You can find out more about the project here.
