Wellbeing news and events

Workshop 1 (public): Wellbeing at cultural venues

We held a workshop to gather the views of members of the public about social prescribing. Social prescribing seeks to address people's non-medical needs (e.g. feeling lonely, housing difficulties, debt problems) by linking them to groups or organisations in the local community that can help. The event included brief talks about how social prescribing is being delivered in Oxford, and the role of gardens, libraries and museums in developing activities that can make people feel better and less isolated. There were several opportunities during the day for those attending to share their views.

Workshop 2 (practitioners): The role of gardens, libraries and museums in social prescribing: A meeting to foster awareness and collaborations

This was a chance for practitioners and researchers to hear what is happening in Oxford but also to network with colleagues from across the country with an interest in social prescribing.
