Schools & Groups

Engaging schools to facilitate access to both the collections and the university is core to our mission. Each year we deliver schools education sessions to over 100,000 school students, supporting the University of Oxford's widening access agenda.

We offer facilitated sessions and self-led visits for all age groups, from pre-school to A-Level. Each Collection offers a range of curriculum focussed sessions, or can work with you to develop activities to suit your individual needs.

Our particular strength is in our secondary school offer, which provides both hands on learning opportunities with collections, but also the opportunity to engage with researchers and academics working within the university.

Each Collection also offers a significant range of teaching resources for use both on a museum visit and in the classroom.

The collections welcome groups of all kinds, whether schools, universities and other educational institutions and clubs, societies and special interest groups.

To ensure your visit is as successful as possible we ask that group visits are booked in advance.
